A New Standard of Coastal Luxury in the Pacific Palisades Riviera
Overview
In the coveted Pacific Palisades Riviera, a neighborhood known for its privacy, mature greenery, and proximity to the beach, a newly completed architectural estate emerges located at 1682 San Onofre Dr, Pacific Palisades, CA. Introduced by host Ariana of The Luxury Home Show, the property is described as “a beautiful, brand new architectural build” and a home that must be “seen to be believed.” Thoughtfully executed by AMG Capital and Ortam Construction, the residence offers more than 10,000 square feet of living space across four levels, including a rare rooftop deck with panoramic views.

Exterior Design & Grounds
The experience begins in a driveway that hardly looks like one. Eco-friendly turf block pavers create a soft, green foreground that reads more like a front lawn than an entry for several cars. A ten-car garage sits discreetly at the rear, ensuring no shortage of parking, especially when entertaining. The facade evokes what Ariana calls “a beautiful traditional California style home,” defined by white brick, stately pillars, and lush landscaping that wraps the structure in a warm sense of welcome. Although newly built, privacy hedging has been installed with an eye toward how it will mature in the coming years, adding depth and natural enclosure to the corner lot.
A wraparound yard encircles the property at ground level, giving every side of the home its own moment. There is a private front seating area Ariana imagines as the perfect place to “have my tea every morning,” as well as a full pickleball court tucked behind sycamores and hedging. The yard’s continuity creates an uninterrupted circuit of greenery, unusual even in this prestigious enclave.
Entrance & Architectural Details
Inside, a foyer wrapped in custom fluted plaster establishes the home’s refined material language. The ceiling continues the plaster treatment, while a statement chandelier and peach and white marble checkerboard flooring introduce the project’s blend of European detail and California ease.
The foyer opens immediately into a soaring main landing illuminated by a two-story skylight and anchored by white oak flooring, which Ariana notes is “warm but still light and airy.” Here, the designers’ vision of “California coastal living with European elegance” comes into focus.
Formal Living & Dining Spaces
The formal dining area is defined by a white oak jamb and framed by a showstopping glass-front wine cellar encased in Calacatta marble.
Across the open plan, the family room enjoys a seamless view of the backyard, pool, and city beyond. A limestone fireplace with fluted detailing links back to the monochrome textures of the foyer, while built-in shelving offers space to display books, travel finds, or conversation-starting objects.
Kitchen & Culinary Design
The kitchen is both sculptural and functional. Ariana highlights its subtly monochromatic palette of white oak and Calacatta marble, noting the fluted edge detailing along the island as “that extra moment of luxury.” A deep farmhouse sink with polished brass hardware, double ovens, a six-burner Wolf range, and a secondary prep sink support everything from family meals to privately catered events. Adjacent is an airy breakfast nook with bench seating and fully pocketing glass doors that open to the backyard.
Bar, Powder Room & Entertaining Zones
Just off the family room, a dedicated bar introduces blue fusion marble, unlacquered brass shelving, white oak coffered ceilings, and coastal blue grass cloth walls.
Nearby, a moody guest powder room features an emerald green stone pedestal sink and studio-made sconces, elements the host describes as “one of my favorite little moments of the house.”
Main-Level Guest Suite & Office
The main level also includes a butler’s kitchen and a guest suite with patio access and views into the surrounding greenery.
A sycamore tree has been intentionally preserved outside the home office, which features custom white oak built-ins, LED-lit shelving, and plaster lighting that creates what Ariana calls “a very soft and dreamy environment.”
Primary Suite Retreat
Upstairs, the primary suite commands its own wing. Custom iron and glass doors flood the room with natural light, leading to a private terrace with sweeping views of the Getty Museum, the coastline, and the city. A limestone fireplace centers the room, while dual closets offer an immersive dressing experience. The primary bath continues the fluted motif with a sculptural soaking tub and an expansive double shower lined in herringbone Calacatta marble.
Panoramic Rooftop Deck
Above it all, the rooftop deck presents one of the home’s defining luxuries. Listing agent Sarah Knauer notes that in more than a decade of working in the neighborhood, she has “not seen another rooftop deck in this area.” Designed for both cooking and lounging, the space includes a Wolf grill, outdoor refrigeration, multiple seating zones, and unobstructed vistas from downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Ocean.
Lower-Level Amenities & Recreation
Below, the basement completes the lifestyle offering with a private movie theater, a wellness studio, sauna, game area, full bath, secondary laundry, and a generously sized bedroom filled with natural light. Even here, marble inlays and white oak paneling demonstrate the consistency of craftsmanship that defines the estate.
A Coastal Estate of Enduring Elegance
Ariana closes the tour by affirming what the design and construction teams set out to achieve: a home rooted in timeless materials, elevated by thoughtful detail, and positioned on one of the Riviera’s most distinguished parcels. In a market known for its architectural ambitions, this property stands as an exceptional value and a rare opportunity to experience California coastal living at its most refined.
