Architecture and First Impressions

Before stepping inside, the house presents itself as a carefully planned family estate, complete with wraparound gardens, mature trees, and low-maintenance faux foliage. Hannah notes that it is “perfect if you don’t want a garden that you need to tend to too much,” while the separate coach house, triple garage, and proximity to a private tennis court underline the lifestyle appeal of this quiet, high-end enclave.

A Grand and Unusual Ground Floor Layout

Inside, a double-height foyer creates an air of grandeur, anchored by a sweeping staircase and a central core around which the living spaces flow. Hannah points out that the layout is “quite unique,” with lounges, a kitchen, and dining areas wrapping around the heart of the home, creating openness while retaining a clear architectural logic.

Open Concept Designed for Entertaining

Consistent flooring and sculptural lighting unite the main living areas. Hannah notes, “It feels very grand,” emphasizing the intricate design of the interiors, from the circular motifs and curves that soften the scale and promote movement around the area to the tunnel fireplace that ties the spaces together.

The Social Centrepiece

At the core sits an expansive kitchen where the oversized island immediately commands attention. “Look at this kitchen island. It is absolutely massive,” Hannah says, describing a space designed for hosting, conversation, and everyday family life. High-end cabinetry, integrated appliances, generous seating, and subtle lighting combine to create what she calls a “full-on diner bar” atmosphere, particularly evocative in the evening.

Curves, Craft, and Hidden Detail

Throughout the ground floor, precise detailing enhances the space even more, from wall panelling and high skirting to concealed storage and integrated media units. Hannah delights in the hidden moments, remarking on her love of “a bit of hidden storage,” before revealing one of the home’s most playful features, a downstairs WC she calls “one of the sexiest” she has ever seen, defined by layered textures and a distinctly boutique-hotel feel.

A Staircase Worth the Pause

The staircase itself becomes a moment of drama, bespoke in design and rich in materiality. Hannah describes it as “unbelievable,” drawing attention to the tactile handrail, crystal detailing, and the way natural light pours in through a vast cathedral-like window, framing the ascent as an architectural experience rather than a simple transition.

The Primary Suite

Upstairs, the primary suite delivers a hotel-like atmosphere that Hannah openly celebrates. “Anybody else feeling like they’re in a hotel? ” she asks, pointing to the angled bed placement, sculptural ceiling feature, fireplace, and plush finishes. A generous dressing room and an opulent ensuite complete the suite, where every detail is designed to look luxurious yet purposeful.

Bedrooms Designed as Individual Sanctuaries

Each additional bedroom maintains the same level of finish, with bespoke joinery, walk-through wardrobes, and ensuites that Hannah notes would be “a main bathroom in a lot of houses”. Smart spatial planning allows bedrooms to feel both luxurious and practical, balancing comfort, storage, and flexibility for family or guests.

A Top Floor of Surprise and Play

The uppermost level introduces further bedrooms alongside one of the home’s most memorable spaces, a cinema room hidden behind a discreet door. Hannah describes it as “one of the bougiest cinema rooms” she has ever seen, complete with daybeds, acoustic treatments, integrated lighting, and even a concealed bar area, creating a space designed as much for lounging as for film nights.

Coach House, Gym, and Grounds

Beyond the main house, the separate coach house offers independent accommodation ideal for guests or live-in staff, while the triple garage and fully equipped gym extend the lifestyle offering. Flooded with light, the gym feels closer to a private retreat than a utility space, and Hannah jokes that it might even be “enough to make you want to work out.”

A Personal Architectural Vision

As Hannah explains, the owner stripped the original house back to its shell and rebuilt it entirely after failing to find anything locally that met his expectations. The outcome is a very intimate family home where luxury, technology, and workmanship all work together harmoniously, leaving Hannah to conclude that “we’re the lucky ones that now get to have a look around it”, and perhaps even imagine calling it home.
