Inside Villa Cambray: a Modern Coastal Estate with One of Jersey’s Most Dramatic Views

Overview

Set above the Jersey coastline, Villa Cambray is a £16 million contemporary residence designed entirely around natural light and panoramic sea views. A stone-lined pathway leads toward the entrance, and a concealed car lift gives you an idea of how big and grand things are below the surface. “The whole property has been designed around light and space” Hannah explains, introducing a home that has bold modern architecture with a calm coastal ambiance.

Architecture Opening to the Horizon

Inside, the villa unfolds across 8,500 square feet and three split levels, connected by a floating staircase with illuminated cantilevered treads. Double-height ceilings, shadow-gap detailing, and vast walls of glazing draw attention outward toward the sea. Hannah describes it as “the kind of welcome home you want” where every design decision was made to make the most of natural light and those unbroken views of the coast.

A Living Space Designed for Hosting

At the center of the home is an open-plan great room combining the kitchen, dining, and living areas into one continuous entertaining space. The bespoke kitchen pairs sleek black Dekton countertops with warm walnut tones, creating what Hannah calls “a space that is functional, but very stylish.” Integrated Gaggenau appliances, concealed Bora extractors, and a secondary chef’s kitchen shows off the home’s modest luxury. Despite its size, the room maintains that inviting ambiance that Hannah says, “This is the kind of space where I think it would be just as inviting to have two of you having a coffee or there’d be 40 of you at a party”.

A modern pool surrounded by lounge chairs, offering a scenic view of the landscape.

Outdoor Living Above the Coast

The villa reaches its most dramatic moment outdoors, where a 15-meter heated infinity pool appears to merge directly into the sea beyond. Surrounded by terraces, sun loungers, fire pits, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, the space feels closer to a private resort than a traditional home. “It’s giving me luxury resort hotel vibes” Hannah says while looking over the views stretching from St. Helier to St. Aubin and, on clear days, you can see across to France.

Designed with Texture in Mind

Throughout the interiors, natural materials temper the sharpness of the contemporary architecture. Jersey granite, oak detailing, Italian porcelain flooring, and marble bathrooms introduce warmth and texture without overwhelming the clean lines of the home. Even smaller spaces are treated with the same attention to detail, including a downstairs WC finished in locally quarried granite that Hannah describes as “the most phenomenal floor I’ve ever seen.”

The Entertainment Floor

The level below the main living areas transforms into a private entertainment hub complete with a cinema room, cocktail bar, wine cellar, gym, and an extraordinary automotive gallery. Accessed via the car lift above, the garage features a rotating turntable, hand-stitched leather wall panels, vintage petrol memorabilia, and lounge-style hosting areas. “This is much, much more than just a garage” Hannah says. “This is a petrol heads playground.”

Modern Coastal Living at Its Finest

What makes Villa Cambray remarkable is not simply its size or luxury specification, but the consistency of its design vision. Each room, piece of furniture, and viewpoint had been meticulously planned to look out over the scenery beyond. Rather than overpowering its surroundings, the architecture frames and elevates the natural beauty of the Jersey coastline at every turn.
