Looking Glass Lodge

Looking Glass Lodge

Overview

Tucked into an ancient woodland near Hastings, Looking Glass Lodge feels more discovered than designed. Elevated lightly above the forest floor and surrounded by centuries-old oaks, the structure blends seamlessly with its environment: part cabin, part sculpture, part quiet sanctuary.

Created by owners Rick & Lindsey and designed by Michael Kendrick Architects, the lodge has become one of Britain’s most recognisable architectural stays. When they invited The Luxury Home Show to capture the experience, the intention was clear: to document not just the structure, but the feeling of being there.

A Natural Partnership

The episode was led by professional hosts from The Luxury Home Show, invited specifically by Rick & Lindsey to help shape a narrative that would do justice to the space. Their calm, observational style allowed the architecture to breathe, guiding viewers through the textures, tones, and atmosphere that make the lodge so special.

The finished film offered something more than a visual tour. It became a reflection of the values behind the property, simplicity, craftsmanship, and connection to place.

From Storytelling to Bookings

What followed was organic but impactful. The video quietly gained momentum across YouTube and Instagram, sparking widespread interest from architecture lovers, nature-seekers, and design-led travellers. Within weeks, Looking Glass Lodge was fully booked at its premium rate for months ahead.

Rick & Lindsey described the response as “incredible”, remarking they never imagined it would reach such a wide audience. For them, the film didn’t just show the lodge, it introduced it to the world.

LHS Impact

Quiet Storytelling, Lasting Impact

Looking Glass Lodge isn’t the kind of place that needs selling and Rick & Lindsey knew that. So when they invited The Luxury Home Show, the brief was simple: let the lodge speak. The finished episode did exactly that; quiet, thoughtful, and true to the place. It quickly gained traction online, reaching millions of viewers and filling the calendar with bookings months in advance.

A Lesson in Understatement

The success of this feature lies in its restraint. There was no push, no polish beyond what the location already offered. Instead, the film unfolded with the same quiet elegance as the lodge itself, windows that tint at dusk, natural timber interiors, a bathroom carved from local stone.

It’s proof that when design is strong enough to speak for itself, all that’s needed is the right frame.

For Creators, Designers and Architectural Hosts

Looking Glass Lodge is a reminder of what can happen when a well-designed space is shared in the right way. Through The Luxury Home Show’s editorial lens and hosting approach, the story landed not just as a property but as a place people could feel.

And in a world of overstimulation and overselling, that kind of storytelling travels.
